Not All Sea Moss Is the Same,
Each Species Differs in Mineral Content, Texture, and Color

Be warned! While the resurgence in popularity of sea moss is something to celebrate, the infiltration into the market of low-quality, warm-water varieties is an unwelcome side-effect of sea moss’s success. These inferior, rope-grown varieties cannot match our genuine Chondrus crispus for nutrient profile.

How is Our Raw Sea Moss Harvested?

We use only wildcrafted Chondrus crispus, a sea moss species that grows naturally in cold North Atlantic waters, where it absorbs minerals from rocks and its marine environment. It is valued in traditional herbal practices and is known for its naturally occurring iodine, calcium, and magnesium content.*

We do not source sea moss from warm-water regions such as the Caribbean or Asia, where different sea moss species may be cultivated in shallow waters or on ropes. These species may differ in texture, appearance, and naturally occurring mineral content.

Our sea moss is harvested from the wild in its natural habitat to help ensure authenticity, integrity, and a rich mineral profile.

Make Sea Moss Gel with Raw Sea Moss

Ingredients

  1. 2 oz Chondrus crispus sea moss
  2. Spring water (for soaking and brewing)
  3. Glass jar (airtight, for storage)
  4. Blender

Instructions

  1. Rinse 2 oz of raw sea moss in spring water twice.
  2. Soak the rinsed 2 oz of sea moss in spring water for up to 24 hours.
  3. Remove sea moss from spring water, then rinse again.
  4. Using scissors, cut the sea moss into small pieces. (This prevents the blender from jamming.)
