Sodium Hydroxide in the Process, but NOT in the Final Soap Bars

Sodium hydroxide, also known as lye, is a white, odorless compound used in the traditional soap-making process. It plays a key role in turning oils or fats into solid soap through a chemical reaction called saponification.

While sodium hydroxide is listed as an ingredient due to its role in production, it is completely transformed and no longer present in the final soap. During curing, the mixture becomes mild, safe, and ready for everyday use, leaving behind a finished soap bar free from active sodium hydroxide.

Ingredients We Leave Out of Our Sea Moss Soaps

  • No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
    A synthetic foaming detergent we choose to leave out of our bars.

  • No Parabens
    A synthetic preservative we choose not to use.

  • No Phthalates
    A synthetic fragrance stabilizer we leave out.

  • No Synthetic Fragrances
    We scent our bars with natural essential oils instead.

  • No Artificial Colors/Dyes
