Lavender is the fragrant flowering herb Lavandula, famous for its purple spikes and unmistakable sweet, floral scent. Ours are whole organic or wildcrafted culinary flowers sourced from France, dried and loose, ready for the teapot or the kitchen. In Spanish it is called lavanda. Each bag contains 4 oz.
Beyond its beloved aroma, lavender is a real culinary flower. It steeps into a delicate floral tea, blends beautifully with chamomile, and flavors lavender lemonade, simple syrups, honey, shortbread, and baked goods. A little goes a long way, so a pinch is usually plenty. These are food grade flowers, not potpourri, so they are ready to cook and steep with.
We keep it simple, just whole dried lavender flowers with nothing added. Store the bag sealed and away from heat and light to hold the fragrance.
Pregnant or nursing mothers, individuals under 18, and individuals with known medical conditions should consult a physician before use.
Add 1 tablespoon of lavender flowers to 8 ounces of boiling water. Cover and steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain and enjoy. Because lavender is bold, start light and steep to taste. For a soft floral blend, pair it with chamomile.
