What is burdock root?
Burdock is a root vegetable, Arctium lappa, with a long earthy taproot. It is eaten as a vegetable in Japan, where it is called gobo, and it has been used in herbal traditions for centuries. Ours is the dried root, 500 mg per serving.
How is this different from your Sea Moss and Bladderwrack capsules?
Two differences. This one adds burdock root as a third plant, and it holds 500 mg of each per serving rather than 900 mg of each. So it is a wider blend at a lighter dose. If you want the seaweed pair at full strength, our Sea Moss and Bladderwrack capsules carry 900 mg of each and 200 capsules per tube.
How much iodine is in it?
32 mcg per 3 capsule serving, which is 21 percent of the daily value. The iodine is the seaweed's own, not an added mineral. Because it is naturally high in iodine, do not take it if you have hyperthyroidism.
Is the sea moss pool grown?
No. Ours is wildcrafted, which means it grows naturally on rocks and reefs and is harvested from the wild. A lot of sea moss sold today is farmed on ropes in warm pools, which is a different thing. Ours is harvested from cold Atlantic waters, and the country of origin is USA and Canada.
