Three of our handmade soap bars in one set: lavender, lemongrass, and eucalyptus and spearmint. 6 oz each, 18 oz in total. All three are built on the same base of olive and coconut oils with wildcrafted Irish sea moss gel, and each is scented only with pure essential oils.

What is in the set

• Lavender, with soursop leaf and patchouli. The calm one. Soft rather than sharp, with an earthy base so it does not read as perfumey.
• Lemongrass, with sarsaparilla root and litsea cubeba. The fresh one. Bright, green and citrusy.
• Eucalyptus and spearmint, with burdock root and a little orange oil. The bracing one. Cooling and clearing, the pairing you find in a steam room.

Between them they cover the three things people actually want from a bar of soap: something calming, something fresh, and something that wakes you up.

Real soap, not detergent, and why that matters

These are genuine handmade soaps, made the traditional way in small batches. Like all true soap, ours is made with sodium hydroxide, lye, which reacts fully with the oils during a curing process of several weeks and leaves no lye in the finished bar. That reaction is what soap is.

Most bars sold as soap in shops are not soap at all. They are synthetic detergent bars, which is why the label often says "beauty bar" or "cleansing bar" rather than soap. We list every ingredient, including the sodium hydroxide used in the process.

Shared base, different scents

Every bar starts the same way: olive oil, coconut oil, water, sodium hydroxide and sea moss gel (Chondrus crispus). What changes is the essential oils and the botanical milled through it. No synthetic fragrance, no dyes, no palm oil, no preservatives in any of them. The full ingredient list for each bar is on its own page.

How to make a handmade bar last

Real soap has no hardeners in it, so it will soften if it sits in water. Keep it on a draining dish, out of the direct spray, and let it dry between uses. Treated that way a 6 oz bar lasts most people several weeks.

With a set, the easy approach is to keep one in use and the other two boxed. Soap cures further in storage rather than going off, so the two waiting will be slightly harder and last slightly longer when you get to them.

Which three bars are in this set?
Lavender, lemongrass, and eucalyptus and spearmint. If you want the calendula, orange and grapefruit bar it is sold separately.

Is there lye in the finished soap?
No. Sodium hydroxide is what turns oils into soap, and by the end of curing there is none left unreacted. Every true soap ever made has been made this way. We list it because it is part of the process.

Does this make a good gift?
It is the reason most people buy the set. Three full size bars and three genuinely different scents.

Are they all vegan?
Yes. No animal ingredients and no animal testing at any stage, in any of the three.

Can I use them on my face?
Yes. All three are made for the face as well as the body, on all skin types. As with any new product, if you have sensitive skin it is sensible to try a small area first.
