Description & Ingredients

Lung is a loose leaf herbal tea of five plants in equal measure. Each 4 oz tube holds about 56 servings, with 400 mg of each herb in a 2 teaspoon serving, 2,000 mg of herb in all. Previously sold as Happy Lung Tea.

Mullein flower (Verbascum thapsus), gordolobo across Mexico and Latin America, comes from a tall roadside plant with woolly leaves and a flower stalk that can grow taller than a person. The soft yellow flowers are the part used here, picked and dried whole.

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra), saúco in Spanish, is the small dark fruit of the elder tree, one of the most widely used berries in European folk tradition.

Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale), diente de león, is the root of the same yellow flower that comes up through every lawn. Steeped, it carries the bitterness the plant is known for.

Black cherry bark (Prunus serotina), also sold as wild cherry bark, is the inner bark of the American black cherry tree, with a distinctive almond-like aroma.

Palo guaco (Mikania glomerata) is a climbing vine from Central and South America. Ours is the whole plant, from Honduras.

The herbs are organic or wildcrafted, and come from the USA, Bulgaria, Honduras and Poland. Nothing is added: no flavoring, no caffeine, no filler. Every batch is third party tested for identity, microbials and heavy metals. Conocido en español como té para los pulmones.

Store tightly closed in a dry place at room temperature, 59 to 86°F.

How to Use

DIRECTIONS:

As a dietary supplement, one cup daily, morning or afternoon.

  • Add 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea to an infuser or strainer, and set it in your cup. Use 1 teaspoon for a lighter cup.
  • Bring 8 fl oz of fresh cold water to a rolling boil.
  • Pour the water over the infuser straight away.
  • Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Covering keeps the aromatic oils in the cup rather than in the steam.
  • Remove the infuser and serve. Caffeine free, so it suits the evening as well.

A 4 oz tube gives 56 servings at 2 teaspoons.
