Candied Orange and Key Lime Peels

INGREDIENTS: 

Orange Peels:
2 cups orange peels | cut into strips
1 cup key lime peels | cut into strips
2 cups spring water

Syrup:
1 cup date sugar
1 cup spring water

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a pot, add the spring water and orange and key lime peels and simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes. Drain and rinse, then set aside.

Syrup:
In a pot, add in the spring water and date sugar and turn heat to medium. Let simmer and add in the orange and key lime peels. Turn heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to dry. Serve and enjoy!
