Third Party Testing and Quality

How we prove what is in every bottle: independent laboratory testing on our batches, certificates of analysis you can request or find on the product page, and manufacturing to the FDA Good Manufacturing Practice standard for dietary supplements.

How we test every batch

Our dietary supplements are third party tested. On our capsules the testing happens twice: the raw material is tested when it arrives, and the finished product is tested again through an independent laboratory after encapsulation. Many of our product pages have the certificate of analysis posted right on the page, and for anything not posted yet, we will send it to you on request.

Who does the testing

Our testing is carried out by independent United States laboratories, including Contract Testing Laboratories of America (CTLA), Eurofins, and Innovatical Laboratories (iLab). Each certificate names the product, the lot number, and the date it was tested.

What we test for

• Heavy metals, by ICP-MS. Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. On our sea moss and sea vegetables we test inorganic arsenic specifically, because that is the form that matters.
• Microbials, by USP and FDA BAM methods. Total aerobic microbial count, total coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus.
• Fill and weight. Each tube is verified to hold the amount stated on the label.
• Identity. The raw material is confirmed as the species named on the label before it is encapsulated.

How our products are made, in a GMP certified facility

Our supplements are manufactured, encapsulated and packaged in the USA in FDA registered facilities that meet 21 CFR Part 111, the FDA Good Manufacturing Practice standard for dietary supplements. One of our facilities is also independently audited and certified to NSF/ANSI 173 and 21 CFR Part 111 by Eurofins. Raw herbs are sourced from named regions around the world, and the country of origin is printed on every product. Herbs are organic or wildcrafted depending on the harvest.

What is in the bottle, and what is not

No fillers, no binders, no flow agents, no additives, and nothing added beyond the herbs and the vegetable cellulose capsule. Our capsules are vegan, made from vegetable cellulose rather than gelatin.

Certificates and documentation

Many of our product pages already show the certificate of analysis on the page. For any product where it is not posted yet, email us at info@alkalineherbshop.com with the product name and the lot number printed on your tube, and we will send it to you. We are also glad to share our facility GMP certificate on request.
