Nettle, or stinging nettle, is one of the most recognized plants in the world, famous for the tiny hairs on its fresh leaves. Drying removes the sting completely, which is how nettle leaf has been enjoyed as a tea across Europe and the Americas for generations. In Spanish it goes by ortiga, and in botany books it is Urtica dioica.
Nettle tea drinks like a deep green broth, closer to spinach than to a floral tea, with a rich, savory character and no caffeine. The cut and sifted leaf also works in soups and stocks the way you would use a dried green.
Each bag holds 4 oz of organic or wildcrafted nettle leaf from Ukraine, cut and sifted. Just the leaf, nothing added.
Pregnant or nursing mothers, individuals under 18, and individuals with known medical conditions should consult a physician before use.
HOW TO MAKE NETTLE TEA:
Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of nettle leaf to 8 fl oz of boiling water. Cover and steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain, then enjoy hot or iced.
