What is body butter?
A thick, rich moisturiser. It holds more butters and oils and less water than a lotion, which is why it feels heavier and lasts longer on the skin. Ours is built on shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii) with avocado and black seed oil, and sea moss, bladderwrack, burdock and dandelion extracts. Each jar is 3.53 oz (100 g).

What is body butter used for?
Dry skin, mostly. Elbows, knees, heels, hands, and anywhere that feels tight after washing. It is for external use on skin only.

How do you use body butter?
Warm a small amount between your fingers and massage it in, ideally onto slightly damp skin after a shower. A little goes further than you expect. Start small and add more if you need it.

Is body butter the same as lotion?
No. Lotion is mostly water and absorbs fast. Body butter carries more butters and oils, so it sits richer, sinks in slower and lasts longer. If lotion has never felt like enough, that difference is what you are looking for.

Is this shea butter?
Shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii), known as manteca de karité in Spanish, is the base of it, alongside avocado oil (Persea gratissima) and black seed oil (Nigella sativa). What makes ours different is the herbs: sea moss (Chondrus crispus), bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus), burdock root (Arctium lappa) and dandelion leaf (Taraxacum officinale) extracts.

Is the body butter vegan?
Yes. Every ingredient is plant derived or mineral, including the emulsifying wax, so there is nothing of animal origin in the jar. No beeswax, no lanolin, no animal fats.

Is it only for the body, or the face too?
Both, which is why it is named for both. It is a rich butter, so on the face most people use a very small amount rather than the way they would use it on elbows or heels. For external use only.
