Each serving of our Plant Power Supplement Chlorophyll) capsules contains 399 mg of nettle leaf. Stinging nettle grows across Europe, Asia and North America. Its sting comes from hollow hairs on the leaves; drying or cooking destroys them, which is why nettle has been eaten as a spring vegetable and brewed as a tea for centuries. It was also historically retted for fibre and woven into cloth. Nettle leaf is a notable dietary source of vitamin K. -
Prickly Pear Cladode (Opuntia ficus-indica)
Each serving contains 399 mg of prickly pear cladode. The cladode is the flat, paddle-shaped stem segment of the prickly pear cactus, not the fruit. Native to Mexico and cultivated across the Mediterranean, the cladodes are eaten as a vegetable known as nopales, typically grilled or diced into salads and eggs. They are largely water and contain mucilage, a gel-forming soluble fibre. -
Dandelion Leaf (Taraxacum officinale)
Each serving of our Plant Power Supplement Chlorophyll) capsules contains 399 mg of dandelion leaf. Dandelion is a perennial in the daisy family found throughout the northern hemisphere. The leaves are eaten as a salad green, most tender when picked young in early spring before flowering, and are sold in Italy as cicoria and in France as pissenlit. This product uses the leaf rather than the root. -
Bladderwrack Whole Plant (Fucus vesiculosus)
Each serving contains 201 mg of bladderwrack. Bladderwrack is a brown seaweed found on North Atlantic and Pacific coastlines, named for the air-filled bladders that keep its fronds upright in water. It was the seaweed from which iodine was first isolated in the early nineteenth century.
