One of the most relaxing treats you can give yourself after a long day when you need to unwind is a warm mug of elderberry tea. It is also naturally free from caffeine.
If you prefer to make your tea from scratch, getting started is simple. Some people like to sweeten it with a splash of agave or add herbs like cinnamon for extra flavor.
You'll need:
- Filtered water
- 2 teaspoons of dried elderberries
- 1 teaspoon of agave or date syrup, to taste
- ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
Directions:
- Mix the elderberries and water together.
- Mix in the cinnamon and turmeric.
- Boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for around 20 minutes to bring out the flavor of the elderberries. Let cool for about 5 minutes.
- Strain and pour into your favorite mug, adding a little agave if you like.
- Sit back and enjoy your tea!
